What the fuck is this bullshit? Like really? He talks as if Getmany just took Norway without a fight, over 1000 Germans died on the forst day of Battle, 5600 Germans died in totall and over 6000 Norwegian/Allies died, the battle of Norway were 2 bloody months of fighting, no other country in Europe but the Soviet Union were able to withstand the Germans for that long

JORGE RODRIGO DALY was a just your normal desperate, noble, durable, distinguished, decorated, war thirsty, honor seeking volunteering CHILEAN WARMONGERING HARDCORE FANATIC who went looking for the SHIT, HONOR and GLORY for the QUEEN and ENGLAND just as 6,000 other Chilean warriors in Chile did while joining up with another 1,500 in England during WORLD WAR TWO (WW2). JORGE RODRIGO DALY, a lieutenant and pilot ace of his biplane torpedo bomber, the SWORDFISH in the FLEET AIR ARM of the ROYAL NAVY, showed off his CHILEAN BALLS and HONOR distinguishing himself especially here in the BATTLE FOR NORWAY OF 1940 successfully sinking a German merchant ship and a destroyer most likely against other Chilean warriors of NAZI GERMANY. JORGE RODRIGO DALY also participated in the BATTLE OF THE ATLANTIC OF 1939-1945 and various operations in the English Channel till the end of the war in Europe returning decorated with the British War Medal of 6 years of honorable service back to Chile. As a footnote, he became a famous national race car driver and national champion distinguishing himself internationally in 1947 during the Tucuman to Resistencia stage of the Grand Prix International of Argentina where in his Dodge pumped out 112 kms/hour beating favored Juan Fangio's Chevrolet by 5 minutes and 37 seconds.

What an ignorant narrarator! We norwegians sank blücher! BLÜCHER for crying out loud!!! The pride of the german navy was sunk by german canons that were taken by norway at the end of the 1800s! German casualties went through the roof when those bastards tried to land at Fornebu and when Blücher was sunk! Too bad we ran out of ammo at one point :/ but too bad that we destroyed germanys only resource when it came to them building an atomic bomb! Joachim Rønneberg is a true hero! Blew Rjukan in the air with his team mates! And then came the allies later and bombed the remains (allies bombed the remains of Rjukan sometime after they had figured out that german atomic bomb studies in Rjukan had kept going, boom goes the weasel!)

What a rubbish and incorrect narrative.
1. German troops marched through Oslo on April 9th, not the 8th.
2. The German heavy cruiser Blucher was destroyed by costal forts just south of Oslo, almost wrecking the German invasion plan.
3. The Oslo Airfield at Fornebu presented heavy resistance, and several German planes were downed. -
The landing of troops at the airport of Oslo met great resistance and
caused heavy casualties to the german troops. The fighting stopped
when the norwegian troops run out of ammunition(!) -
What happened to norwegian coast artillery sinking of the cruiser Blucher at the
fortress of Oscarsborg and thus delayed the seaborne invation of Oslo??? -
Uhm this 2 year old discussion aside, this documentary leaves out a few Points.
One of the German ships, Blücher, was famously sunk in the Oslo fjord. Also, their troops did not meet much resistance AT Fornebu, but on the way FROM Fornebu. Norwegians delayed the German troops enough for the royal Family to Escape by Train northward (and thereby removing the Germans chance of enforcing Complete surrender).
I don't know how much the Next 2 parts will tell, but considering the communications problem (smart move by the Germans), the low density and population, and the sheer amount of Germans occupying her, I am definately of the meaning that Norway did one hell of a job.
Noteworthy is also that the "allies"' first victory happened at the hands of Norwegians. Other than that and the Norwegian commandos and their halting of the German nuclear program process, there is perhaps not that much interesting regarding Norway and WWII.
Fun fact: at the most, the occupants numbered over 400 000 - every tenth person you'd meet overall, regardless of age and gender, was a German. -
Even this, so called serious production fail to mention the sinking of Blucher. GET YOUR HISTORY STRAIGHT !!

blows my mind that Narvik was taken this way and they didn't know if the Krauts were Tommy's or not... it be craze, mon.

Haha, there's quite a lot of flaws in the facts this documentary presents... but whatever, Nice footage I guess :)

@Agrikultur hehe thats true =) Finnland and Norway has alot in common. The woods are nearly the same and the clima.. =)

Cracked me up how he pronounced Oslo, Trondheim and Narvik XD

@CowardU "the norwegians put up a hell of a good fight!"

I'm kind of insultet by this. Yes, it was "easy" to invade Norway but not a easy as they show in this clip. We did a damn good job protecting our country considering training, equipment and personal. They didn't even mention the sinking of Blücher, which made it possible for the royal family to escape to England.
http://protectacow.typepad.com/ TRANSLATION : O Partha, happy are the ksatriyas (warriors) to whom such fighting opportunities come unsought, opening for them the doors of the heavenly planets. PURPORT : As supreme teacher of the world, Lord Krsna condemns the attitude of Arjuna who said, "I do not find any good in this fighting. It will cause perpetual habitation in hell." Such statements by Arjuna were due to ignorance only. He wanted to become nonviolent in the discharge of his specific duty. For a ksatriya to be in the battlefield and to become nonviolent is the philosophy of fools. In the Parasara-smrti or religious codes made by Parasara, the great sage and father of Vyasadeva, it is stated:"The ksatriya's duty is to protect the citizens from all kinds of difficulties, and for that reason he has to apply violence in suitable cases for law and order. Therefore he has to conquer the soldiers of inimical kings, and thus, with religious principles, he should rule over the world." Considering all aspects, Arjuna had no reason to refrain from fighting. If he should conquer his enemies, he would enjoy the kingdom; and if he should die in the battle, he would be elevated to the heavenly planets whose doors were wide open to him. Fighting would be for his benefit in either case. Bhagavad-gita 2.32 by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami
