in October 2016 we travelled to Oslo Norway for a weekend off. We found a cheap flight from Berlin and booked a great airbnb place. We knew Norway isn't cheap but wow. This is the most expensive place we have ever been. ⬇ Read more about what to do when not rich ⬇ Naturally, this video is about us not trying to blow our budget the minute we step foot on Gardermoen and still having a kind of decent weekend in Oslo. Budgetwise as well as in things-to-see in Oslo, you're gonna be happy with 3, max 4 days as the city is not as big as you might think. There are some things you should definitely check out. Here's the list of most-bang-for-the-buck places to see: * PARLIAMENT * FREE Tour on Saturdays at 10:00 or 11:30 for an inside look at how norway's parliament works. Be some 20 minutes early to be sure you get in, it's 30 people max. No advanced booking possible. http://www.visitoslo.com/en/product/?TLp=183188 * OPERA HOUSE * 10 EUR / $11,50 Tour: Oslo has a great opera house which offers a behind-the-scenes tour of their facility. You can see the tailoring department creating insanely long lasting tailor-made costumes for their plays, check out the backstage areas and huge stage designers' spaces. It is definitely worth it. You can't film in there though. Buy your tickets directly at the counter, stay spontaneous. http://operaen.no/en/Enjoy-more/Omvisning-i-Operahuset/ * HOLMENKOLLEN + NATURE VACAY * You can visit Oslo's legendary ski jump Holmenkollen by taking the metro to the outmost station northwest-bound of Oslo. It is located in a skiing region just 20 minutes outside of the city. In summer as well as on great winter days you can take a walk from the farthest station down to Holmenkollen, which takes about 30 minutes. If you're up for it and not poor yet, you can zipline the ski jump. * LOOK AT PLACES FROM OUTSIDE * FREE. Yes. Walking around the city is free. Do it to stay amazed of how expensive everything is. PS: Take a single fare NSB train from Gardermoen to the city and don't buy a metro pass, you can walk most distances. *********************** Music: Dj Quads: https://soundcloud.com/aka-dj-quads/by-my-side-vlog-music LAKEY INSPIRED: https://soundcloud.com/lakeyinspired/feeling-good SeizeTheBeat: https://soundcloud.com/seize-the-beat/lemaitre-cut-to-black-1
