The reason Norway have higher prices on stuff, is that we want to have as cheep hospitals as possible. Therefore we need to get the money to make this possible somewhere. And some of this makes the prices higher.

Glad I watched this video. Changed my itinerary.

If everybody in Oslo is prosperous, but everything is really expensive, are they really that well off?

I'm from Norway and i hate when people ask me if i need help, it's so annoying

Good video with great true points, although One thing WORTH mentioning about the beggars though is that 95% of them aren't even Norwegian citizens. They're from Eastern Europe, most of them flocking in to Norway, Sweden etc by the busloads to beg and send the money back to their native countries.
The steep prices though is indeed a huge problem for most people who don't come here with Norwegian salaries.
When it comes to food: make a traditional Norwegian "matpakke" from your hotel buffet and bring your "matpakke" with you for later XD -
Norway is expensive, but it's alot cheaper if you know what you're doing.

I like that Oslo is really condensed. Everything is close.
-
Hey, great video! I'm planning on going to Oslo on December, but I have a question.. how do you get the Oslo pass?
-
Most of us norwegians hate going to Oslo. The roads are ridiculous, impossible to get a half decent parking spot, and just too many busy people.
And oh btw, we dont really put too much into the hotdogs, its just the fastest way to get a quick snack while refueling your car at the same time.
Honestly, if you really want a good vacation in Norway, you should travel and see it by train. Its really the only way to see the different cultures and landscapes we have. -
not bad against beggars, but they not homeless. in norway they get money from the state. So that is not actyally any poor people in norway.

Immigrants need to realise that they aren't going to be welcomed into a country with open arms and accommodation too meny immigrants come to this country expecting to be able to find a job easily despite not speaking a word of Norwegian and will be able to settle down with a nice house someone deep in nature when the reality is only 1 in 5 immigrants are going to get a job which aren't nearly as easy to get as they think especially because there foreigners. They've probably been told that Norwegians are extremely kind people and will help them if they need anything when really most of us including me see them as and I apologise for seeming a little rude a waste of space who are taking jobs that a Norwegian could of taken and end up doing a terrible job with there little knowledge of Norway and it's people leaving them only to beg on the streets. I apologise if my English isn't perfect I hope you could atleast understand the meaning of the comment.
Oslo is a great place to visit on vacation or for a holiday, but even great places with Viking Museums, Nobel Peace Prize Ceremonies and so much more has a few things you may not like. Moreover, the beggers are often on a work trip in norway. Begging pays more than a job in their country. They ones here are often middle class or at least not the poorest in their own countries! When i give money its to the homeless. which often dont interact with you, they are the real deal. often also drugusers and etching norwegian. While the ones that try to talk to you the most, and really try their best to get your money are often involed in groups, mobs or have this as their jobs!
So normal resturants, bars all over the country charge 10-15 dollar per beer. If you go to a more fancy bar it will often be more. A good diner is 15-40 dollar(the drinks are often pretty expensive, like a soft drink or bubbly water is crazy expensive..) so yeah.
We are a really friendly ppl, but the norm here is personal space, we wont bother you at all. But we want to help, even if it looks like we dont care. So if you ask, speak first etc you will be happy you did. We speak good english and are really helpful and friendly when asked/spoken too.
