Hi,
please, could you tell me more about the ISS Program? what kind of studies does it include (I'm really interested in studying in Oslo and learn the language as well). I'm doing MBA in business administration. also, how I can register for such program? Is it possible to learn Norwegian language with the ISS program at the same time? -
Also, I thought tuition was free for Norwegian colleges?
-
I'm planning on studying abroad in Norway too, preferably University of Oslo, can you help me out please?

@partikla86 I was on a short tourist visa and therefore could not work... and it's not really enough time to have a job anyway (two months). So I have no idea what companies require. Universities usually have rooms for students but having been in Norway for such a short time I am not very educated on all of the options. The only program I know well is the one I took. Summer ISS at Uni Oslo.

Sorry I replied so late. I haven't checked on this video in forever. Did you attend the program? It's hard to speak on college life in Norway because the ISS is not a program for Norwegian students and it's only for a summer... so you don't get the same immersion experience you would taking a semester abroad at a traditional university.

Hi Blake, I considered taking Norwegian but I wasn't going to be able to earn credit for it at my home school and decided two other classes deserved my attention more. I sometimes wonder if I made the right choice. But as so many people in Norway speak English it's more of a fun thing to learn the language rather than helpful.

Did you take Norwegian language classes when you were there?

If any of you Americans really wish to study abroad here and need some assistance I'll gladly help out 8D

@reidscoey2 and @dakotalee629 When you're not in class or attending another ISS event (some of which are optional -- but should still be attended) you are pretty much free to do whatever you want. I knew people who traveled to England, Germany, and Holland on the weekend. People went downtown at night all the time. We didn't have a curfew or anything like that. The main reason having fun was limited was because it costs a lot of money to have fun in Norway.

Hey Ashley, I really enjoyed your videos about the ISS and stuff. I found out about ISS in march of last year so it was kinda too late to do it last summer but i'm definitely applying for summer 2012. I live in college station, TX and an studying petroleum engineering at Texas A&M, what would you say are some of the major cultural differences in college life there? and I know its already been asked but how much freedom are you allowed in the program? find me on facebook! -Reid Scofield

@xaelakbar I only went to Uni Oslo and didn't look at other schools so I couldn't really recommend non-American schools (where I live). BUT I had a friend who went to Uni Bergen (also in Norway) and I've heard great things about it. Bergen is a very fun place, smaller than Oslo, but has a lot of culture and nightlife.

Do you want to study abroad? I did! Here's how I chose my program, the International Summer School at the University of Oslo.
