In December 2012, the biannual meeting of the Norwegian Herpetological Association took place at the Reptile Park here in Oslo. It's so cool to be there after opening hours. :-) I was of course at the meeting - in fact I did a little presentation of the Galápagos Islands, showing photos from my trip there in the spring - and of course seized the opportunity of getting some video of the many interesting animals the Park keeps. This video shows the phantasmal poison dart frogs, Epipedobates tricolor. As you can see, they are easy to spot in their absolutely fantastic vivarium. And they're so tiny ... !! :-o There is one individual that is seen about midway through the video whose colors and markings are totally different from the others. I don't know whether this is a juvenile of Epipedobates tricolor that hasn't developed adult colors yet, or whether it's an individual of a completely different species that was overlooked when the display was changed (the Park have many more species than are on display at any one time and regularly rotate animals on and off exhibit). If you have the answer, please let me know in the comments!! :-) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phantasmal_poison_frog The Park is within easy walking distance of downtown Oslo and is well worth a visit if you ever get the chance. http://www.reptilpark.no/ http://www.herpetologisk.com/
