It's a "shame" that new regulations that came in place at around year 2000 put a lot of these types of old elevators out of use. The few that are left are usually heavily modified or modernized, which takes away a lot of the charm and/or heritage.
We have two old and rare Wisbech freight elevators at work. One is in working condition, but modernized and the other is original, but out of use.
