Your cousin's dialect sounds kinda Swedish, at least from Scanian, no idea what is this caused by, Stavanger and Malmö are not nearest cities. On the other hand, "eg" is evidently taken from Icelandic
-
This is so cool. I'm a German living in the US. Love all the German dialects. The Stavanger dialect sounds more "German" (or Danish) to me. Probably the "R". Where I'm from we use that type of R.
-
It almost seems like these "dialects" are more like entire different languages rather than dialects of the same language! How do you understand each other when you travel around to different cities?
-
I'm going to Bergen and Stavanger in October. I look forward to shouting "honden har forsvonne" at passers by when I get to Stavanger.
-
Jeg er selv fra Stavanger, jeg bruker mer Søppel enn "Bås".
-
The Stavanger dialect has a lot of similarities with faroese. That was really funny to hear
-
nice job...I was born in Norway and could barely understand them back then :)
-
Every country has it`s own dialekts, im living now in Austria and it is insane how diferent everyone speaks
-
Stavanger er så siiinnsyyge fint <3 <3
-
Not sure if I fell in love with the language or the girl..... Think both !
-
Stavanger and the strilamål dialects are very similar. Stril is spoken in the area around Bergen. I speak strilamål.
-
Sexy tongue piercing.
-
What?! I don't say most of the words from Stavanger and i have lived there my whole life
-
I think that "steinfin" is something similar to "rock solid", based off of both what the words both mean individually and how it's used in the example given. But I'm not entirely sure.
-
I like Oslo dialect way more. Your cousin sounds like a German speaking norsk! I already know German, now's the time for Norwegian.
-
are u english or norwegian haha sorry
-
Stavanger dialekt lyder som dansk til meg. Hvorfor har man så forskjellige dialekter innen et språk? Jeg kommer fra Russland hvor alle snakker på nesten samme måte og forskjeller i uttalelsen er bare marginale.
-
Oh in swedish huva and luva are two words that mean the same thing
-
Löje isn't a word in Stavanger-dialect, it's just a normal scandinavian word and exists in swedish
Thank you for watching, please, like, comment and subscribe! :) With help from my cousin from Stavanger, I can here give you a sneak peak of what the dialect is like in Stavanger. Maybe this might help you get a heads up on what to expect. I am sorry to everyone from Stavanger if Im translating something wrong, PLEASE correct me in the comments! _____________________________________________________ Hey all Norwegian learners! The language I'm teaching is not Bokmål nor Nynorsk. It's an east dialect and I don't think you will have much problem with bokmål after this. :) And everyone will understand this. I am Norwegian, from Norway. Born and raised. I live in Oslo, with my husband and son. --------------------------------------- I started filming with my webcam.
