Svensk Recitation Swedish Recital Nathan Söderblom (1866-1931) Lars Olof Jonathan "Nathan" Söderblom was born at Trönö, Hälsingland, to Jonas Söderblom and Sophia Söderblom. Söderblom won respect for his personal charm and talent as a speaker. For seven years, from 1894 to 1901, Söderblom preached in Paris, where his congregation included Alfred Nobel and August Strindberg, and eventually became the first foreigner ever to earn a Doctor of Theology degree at the Protestant Faculty of the Sorbonne. He was called to San Remo in 1897 to conduct the memorial service for Nobel and in 1930 to Oslo to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.
