true!! this musicians are great and i do not say something against them , i say against the idea of everybody want s to be original and can be a problem also!! sometimes for some people originality it comes before learning playng standards and blues progression! in norway the best saksofon player for me is Petter Wettre who is against to educate more people in jazz in norway because of the poor level and not enought jobs!!give a search on google...SO maybe originality must wait until we make some old fashion practice !! by the way search for Petter Wettre is killer ,heavy cat !!!

you are very wrong . I know this guys personally and above all Tore Brunborg ( tenor ) he knows very well the things even if like to play different . But i played with him sometimes and i assure you he was just like Mike Breker if he would do that ! believe me ......

originality....yeah......! the problem is everybody want s to be original without learning charlie parker, coltrane, miles ......he,he? i heard alot of bands playng modern....and they couldn t play good on a standard blues chords!! i don t say nothing about this musicians they are great all. Just the idea that people tend to bee original before knowing the holly grail of jazz vocabulary !! That s sad and disapoiment !!!

Norwegian jazz seems very strong these days. Does it exist only at the fringes or is it embraced more widely by Norwegian culture?
