it took me forever to find this song.when I was a little boy my mom dedicated this to me she has been dead for 8 years now I can't stop listening to it I'm 35 now and miss her so much

I sang this song in a talent show when I was 10 years old.
Now, I'm 39 and just had my first child, a son. He's three months old and I've found myself singing this song to him. Today, I found it ironic, the lyrics, beings so similar to how I feel as his mother.
I've never seen this video before but can't help but feel that there was a reason I sang this song almost 30 years ago.
