Dance Jockey returns for the fourth time to Oslo to debute exciting new music and dance. Dance Jockey is the first dance performance where the music is controlled solemnly by all of the dancer's body movements through a sensor suit. This suit can capture all the details of the dancer's body and send it to a laptop for real time control of virtual instruments and effects. The result is an exciting visual and aural experience never seen before the advent of this multimedia artistic concept and technology. This unique performance is changing the way we perceive sound and motion and is continuously expanding the boundaries of art and technology. By giving the dancer intimate and visceral control of digital sounds, we are revisiting the role of our body in music making and composition through a contemporary lens. This new version now incorporates all the hardware in the backpack and the speakers in the hand--so I can perform anywhere any time :)
