These estimates are in stark contrast to projections from the likes of Statoil and the IEA as to the penetration rate of EVs. Statoil’s base case Reform scenario assumes AFVs comprising 67% of new LDV sales and 45% of the global LDV fleet by 2040. The two “2°C” scenarios –Statoil’s Renewal and the IEA’s 450 – assume EVs to make up 64% and around 35% of the
global LDV market by then, respectively. For context, Bloomberg’s New Energy Finance study expects EVs to comprise 35% of LDV sales and 25% of the global fleet by 2040.

We replaced both our dinosaur burners with two EV's. One with 120 km of range and one with 200 KM of range. It was a bit of a test for us to see they they would suit our needs. Happily they do, 100 percent. Cost was about 50,000 total for the two. We bought on the outgoing model year on both and saved a bundle. We needed at least one of them to be fast charge CHaDemo compatible for longer trips but really we do most of our charging at night at home. The recharge network is getting bigger really quick though. Probably double the stations in the last two years in British Columbia where we live.

I know that not all mechanics are crooks, however, I can't tell you when in my lifetime, I took my car to a mechanic and didn't feel that they were ripping me off and over charging me. Electric cars have approximately 18-20 moving parts as opposed to 2,000 moving parts on the average gas powered cars. This means that these crook auto mechanics, and those of you that are, know who you are, will be out of work. Or, shall I say "out of a hustle"?

So, I have no sympathy for these road bandits. Like I said, it isn't all of them, but it's sort of like trying to find and honest politician. At some point, you get the idea that they are all crooks or that they all lie a little, it's just part of the job.

Same goes for mechanics. You have a mechanic shop on every block here in Nashville, and they are all competing for work. And they rationalize their thievery and tell themselves that they are providing for their families by over charging us.

But I am going all electric soon, and selling all of my gas powered cars. So, to all of you dishonest mechanics, and you know who you are! You killed the goose that lay the golden eggs! Maybe you will think of this fact while being unemployed or waiting tables, which by the way, is a very good job.
