Rick Laird on bass, sounding great. They fell out a number of times. Buddy fired him a number of times, but always rehired him for More Money.

Is the bass player Rick Laird who went on to play with Mahavishnu Orchestra?

being a bassist before switching to drums many years ago I really appreciate the subtle interactions up close between Buddy and his bassist during that inspiring bass solo! The audio was quite good and made one feel as if you were sitting right beside them during that intimate exchange which was uniquely captured at this show and that was quite a moment not lost on me and also supremely demonstrates Buddy's ability to focus on a single member of the band to encourage an even better performance out of them. Awesome posting! Thanks!

Ritchi looks like John Denver!

Nice to see this go around the net for the pleasure of Buddy fans. I personally got this out from the Norwegian National Broadcasting archives about 15 years ago since i have a good friend who used to be a jazz producer for the network. I traded it around to a few people and it has been showing up for many years on YT. The producer told me that it was never broadcast. Only 3 songs exists. The venue is called Njaardhallen, an old handball arena close to my house in oslo, still in use today.

Thanks again for posting these new videos. This band was the so called rock era band, had sort of a rock feel to some of the charts. Kind of liked these versions especially on Basically Blues. Some of the instrument mics didn't seem to be working very well. I thought the bass player looked alot like Bobby Darin.

Nice! Thanks for posting this all together.

The organist is outstanding, great stuff.

I think preach is one of the greatest charts he did. It's so exciting ... I can only imagine how being in the room when this was played live must have been like .

Preach and Teach again is absolutely stunning.

Individual songs from this 1970 filmed concert have been posted, but I haven't seen all 3 songs together. So here's the whole show! Sorry drummers, no drum solo on this one.
