Was Buddy using a Ludwig snare here, or a Fibes.
Sounds great, anyway. -

just amazing, the greatest drumer

There are plenty of great musicians in the world, and a lot of them are pretty self-indulgent. It takes a great leader like Buddy Rich to get them to play together as a unit. All respect for the George Patton of Jazz!

Search on Spotify: North Sea Jazz Legendary Concerts, and you gonna find all the music was played in this concert

Does anybody know the name of the lead trumpet player?
-
Got to feel bad for the old school bass player trying to tackle Jaco. Good effort that man.

Lead trumpet Chuck Schmidt is super solid - one of the best Buddy ever had in that chair (and there were some great ones through the years- Al Porcino, Bobby Shew, Dave Stahl, Ollie Mitchell, Eric Myashiro, Mike Price, John Madrid, Tony Garruso, etc. - note I'm deliberately NOT including the exciting but sloppy Lin Biviano). Anyway, it's disappointing that Chuck's mic was turned down a bit for this set. He's killin' it.
