Mind blowing ,are those Ela M 251 microphones ?

Eddie Gomez is overrated. He is very active in the band but his technique is not clean and he plays lots of notes, nevertheless they don’t have a superior meaning.

What always amazes me with musicians like this is that they've not only been able to develop this amazing ability, astonishing depth of improvizational knowledge and complex harmonic arrangement, but are able to form groups with high quality musicians who have a mutual understanding and ability and completely pull off playing at this level internationally too. The natural ability and confidence to do that is almost superhuman IMO, it must be a fantastic feeling to be in that position and having such a wonderful gift and knowing that you're achieving and hugely respected wherever you go. Imagine getting straight off a plane and just walking into a concert like that or something without rehearsal (Bill himself said they never rehearsed, just had a set harmonic pattern and improvized).
